Access Copenhagen!

Are you or your parents born outside of Sweden? Are you struggling to find a job? Working in Copenhagen sounds exciting, but you don’t know how? If you are between 18 and 45 years old we can help you!

Why are we talking about networking and not recruiting to you guys?

“To give a man a fish and he will have it for a day, to teach a man to fish and he will have it for a lifetime”.

In many countries, especially in Scandinavia, a network is an essential tool to get into the labor market. It’s also important to be able to navigate how to find this network; both for yourself but also for your future employer. Fördomsfönster Öresund will not give you a job, it’s creating doors to open up for a network of employers and colleagues from all kinds of backgrounds and sectors. Because we believe that this first showing of engagement makes us aware of your spirit and passion for what you do and your willingness to get a job. It’s up to you if you want to be part of this journey, we are excited to get you onboard!

SO, WHO CAN TAKE PART?

The main goal of the project is to increase commuting between Denmark and Sweden. One way to do this is to understand the differences in attitudes, with a focus on ethnicity, on both sides of the water. To be able to get this research relevant for the project and avoid as many other factors as possible (for example the age factor - which we believe is another important thing to study but not part of this project) we have narrowed it down to:

  • People born in another country than Sweden or Denmark OR people with another cultural background (for example if you are born in Sweden but haven’t lived here for most of your life or if you have foreign-born parents)

  • Age of 18 - 45 years old

  • All sectors, educational levels and work experiences

However, if you don’t fit this description you’re always welcome to get in contact with us anyways. Hopefully, we can help you even outside of this certain project.

SO, HOW TO TAKE PART?

  • Send your CV to the project’s Candidate Manager (contact details below)

  • Be invited to a meeting where we can have a chat about your motivation triggers, background and to get an understanding of who you are.

  • Attend to workshop Meet the Danes! held by Lund University, Copenhagen University, and Föreningen Norden (read more below).

  • Take part of our network of employers and other participants in this project

Meet the Danes!

As a candidate you will be offered to take part in a one day workshop that is specially designed for this project called “Meet the Danes!”. (Click here to read the program for the second workshop)

The workshop aims to give a first taste of how it is to work and live in Denmark compared to Sweden. Focus will be on the perhaps small, but significant, differences. Such as workplace mentality and culture, social norms and language, but also legal and systemic differences between the Swedish and Danish labor market.

By participating in the workshop you will be able to ask all your questions, get practical information and tips as well as exchange experiences and ideas with other candidates. There will also be opportunities to learn more about specific danish companies and perhaps even meet some of their representatives.

After the workshop you will get access to a digital platform where the information and content of the workshops will be stored for longtime use. The platform is currently in developing phase but it is intended to work as a sort of online education, where you will be able to use it to repeat and further improve what you learned during the actual workshop. Its also a forum to keep contact and discuss with your fellow candidates.

All in all the workshop is meant to give you as a candidate the knowledge and tools to be better prepared to enter the Danish labor market!
